NINDS Custom Collection II
The NINDS Custom Collection (1040 compounds)
This collection was prepared to meet the needs of the multi-center screening program launched by the NIH/NINDS in 2001 in the search for new therapies in neurodegenerative diseases. We began the design of this collection by using GenPlus as our base, and added selected CNS active compounds and heat shock modifiers to broaden the therapeutic scope. The collection and the screening program were resounding successes. We have since modified the content of the collection by replacing the numerous controlled substances which had been included, with newer drug representatives and reissued it as the NINDS-II Collection. In 2005, this collection has formed the basis of another multi-center screening program for the combined NIH/JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) project in the search for new therapeutic approaches in Diabetes..
